Brussels - Ixelles

Brussels knows an enormous diversity in culture, fashion and according shopping districts. Café Costume wanted to be properly represented in that diversity that’s so indicative for our Belgian capital. In 2016, Café Costume opened the doors to a new shop in Ixelles, on the Place Albert Leemans.

The remarkable Belgian architects over at AE Studio made this store their second interior design project for Café Costume. Completely in line with the Café Costume philosophy, we deliberately went for a vague conceptual border between shop, office space and the feeling of coming home.

Brussels - Dansaert

Café Costume opened its second store in 2008 in the arty neighbourhoud of Rue Dansaert. A bright shop with an enticing entrance that leads towards made-to-measure craftmanship.

Renovated in 2022 by Æ Studios , the store displays a modern interior with a central working table and two seperate measuring rooms. The Brussels tailors are always on the go to create an airy, open feeling in the shop, obtained by the combination of featherlight fabrics and fair colours.

Next door to the shop, you'll find The Gallery. A venue designated to welcome women who are looking for their own made-to-measure garments and outfits, the Café Costume way.

Antwerp

The Antwerp flagship store opened in 2006. What started as a small boutique of 70m² in the revived south district of Antwerp, has now spread over several buildings around the Pacification square.

The original store has now doubled in size and was renovated by AE Studios in 2020. This resulted in a light and quiet space in which the visitor can compose his designs in comfort. In 2022 their services were again called upon in creating "The Boutique", Café Costume's first ever female-oriented shop. Conveniently positioned between the flagship store, our Atelier and The Bar it is an bright corner shop, with ample outside seating area for summer days.

Complete your Café Costume experience by visiting the recently reopened KMSKA and the many galleries in the area. Or quench your thirst at one of the bars or restaurants on " 't Zuid".

Bruges

A vibrant new place in town. That’s how locals describe the shopping district where Café Costume is nestled in Bruges since 2016. The Ezelstraat connects a mix of independant entrepreneurs whose strength relays in their uniqueness.

Away from the touristique city center you will discover a discrete and stylish Café Costume interior designed by the architects from AE Studio. On the previous location of Bruges well known “Stoffenhuys” you will find a dignified, boudoir style shop. Where green velvets, brass, exclusive antique mirrors and dark wood blend perfectly in a rough but elegant appearance.

Courtrai

May 2013. Café Costume opened its fourth shop in Courtrai, close to the market square in the city centre. In a shop where architecture meets fashion. The interior is a sublime mix of the famous design by Courtrai Art Workshops “De Coene Brothers” and a fresh touch of modern art deco.

A place where precision is needed and craftsmanship, tradition and renewal blend together well. The place used to be known before as “Kortrijks Koffiehuis”, but now suits are being served instead of coffee. Try to have a walk through modern history, by discovering the world heritage of the fine De Coene interior and the contemporary Café Costume attitude.

Ghent

In 2018 our Ghent shop moved to Hoogpoort, in the city center. This settle down by Café Costume offers a shop with more space, more service and an elevated experience. Heads will turn when entering this place; the emphasis has been laid in proportions.

The first part of the store is designated for women looking to have their measurements taken and garments designed.
Moving past this section a wide gallery leads deeper into the store, where our traditional men's tailoring craft is carried out. Every space carries its own atmosphere, ameliorated by a careful attention to detail by our architects.

The interior design from the store shows a brutal elegance. Bold imagery and sturdy furniture are combined with rounded textiles and deep toned wood furnishings. The innovative tailor shop incorporates a table sculpture and artwork by Florian Tomballe. Café Costume set up a rewarding collaboration with Going East, who dressed the Fosbury & Sons workspace in Antwerp. Leave your car at the Vrijdagmarkt parking lot, and grab the opportunity to wander through Ghent, suited up.
