Discovering

Bruges

In a city praised worldwide for its fine lace, you’d be right to expect the utmost attention to detail when you visit Café Costume Bruges. No medieval stone will be left unturned, no pocket square unfluffed, until you’re all set. Whether it’s your first meeting or final fitting, there’s a lot more you can get up to in this tableau vivant of a city once our tailors release you into the wild.

Peckish? As Bruges is dubbed the ‘Venice of the North’, you might as well mosey on down to the intimate L’Etna Italian pizzeria and lose track of time admiring their divine Sicilian thin-crust pizza. If you’re craving a multiple-course meal crafted by young gastronomical talent, head to Kok au Vin for a sumptuous lunch or gourmand dinner.

Ironically, soaking up the age-old culture on every street corner can make you quite thirsty. Groot Vlaenderen, right around the corner from our store, should be your cocktail bar of choice – go for the gentle Mai Tai and let the rum do what it does best. If all that sauce has put you in the mood for soul food, snap a finger or two in the treasured Bruges jazz & blues bar Comptoir Des Arts. You could also go mid-century furniture-hunting at Galerie Thomas Serruys or suppress a lone tear while watching a quality flick at Cinema Lumière. Bruges is best explored on foot or by bike (the cobbled streets will give you buns of steel). The vibrant Ezelstraat is a great place to start. Our neighbours, passionate entrepreneurs running their independent businesses, will happily spoil you along the way.
